WHAT IS EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) was developed my Gary Craig (emofree.com) in 1995 expanding the original form of energy therapy (Though Field Therapy 1985). Gary writes: “EFT is a new discovery that has provided thousand with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simple stated, it is a unique version of acupuncture except you don’t use needles. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips.”


The meridian points are the subtle energy systems discovered by the Chinese 5,000 years ago. There are 12 major energy meridians in the body which run from the top of your head, down to your toes and fingertips. These meridians are channels that carry energy throughout the body. Negative emotions can disrupt the body’s energy system, resulting in a blockage (like a kink in a hose). Most of our negative emotions are major contributors to physical pans, disease and psychological problems. EFT unblocks and shifts the body’s energy in a quick and highly effective way.


GETTING YOUR ENERGY MOVING


Before starting EFT, it is a good idea to get your energy moving.

  1. Drink a glass of water and say,“I am filled with love and gratitude.” This statement has the strongest influence in changing the water molecules within us and the water we drink.

PHASE I - SETUP STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Take 3-5 breaths

  • “Even though I have this problem or feel this emotion, I completely and deeply love & accept myself.”

  • Sore Point -Find spot upper chest region, press with thumb and repeat statement 3Xs.

  • Karate Chop Point - Tap spot and repeat statement 3X’s


PHASE II - Statement of Feeling/Negative Beliefs Tap and Say 1X


  • Mohawk “Even tho I feel______________________, I completely & deeply love and accept myself.

  • Eyebrows “Even tho I feel______________________, “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “

  • Temples “ “ __________________________, “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “

PHASE III-Tap in the Positive Statements

Your own or the following: 3Xs

  • Karate Point “I’ve made a lot of positive changes.”

  • Mohawk “I’m continuing to heal”

  • Eyebrows “I’m proud of myself for what I’m becoming”

  • Temples “I support myself in making these changes.”

  • Under Eyes “I’m strong, a survivor & I don’t give up.”

  • Under Nose "I love the new me.”

  • Chin "I am filled with love & gratitude.”

  • Collarbone “I’m a good loving person & deserve good things.”

  • Under Ribs “I can trust God/universe will support me through this process.”

  • Cross Wrists “I’m just as important as anyone else, I’m one of God’s children.”

Take 2 Deep Breaths


PHASE IV-ANCHORING THE SESSION

Clinch right hand into fist and rub clockwise over your heart while repeating any of the following:

  • “I forgive myself for not supporting me”

  • “I love, accept & forgive myself for thinking these things”

  • “I forgive others in influencing my thinking”

  • “I’m releasing all of this now & forever”

  • “I love you & will always be here for you.”

Then take 2 Deep Breaths
